Rev. Ashley McFaul-Erwin
Pastor
Ashley is a lifelong Presbyterian: beginning her journey in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland before moving to the United States in 2011. Ashley’s journey in the United States began in Nashville, TN where she served as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV). Ashley completed her seminary studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School. In 2018 Ashley was the first openly queer person ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament by the Presbytery of Middle Tennessee. During her eight years in Nashville Ashley became involved with ministry on Tennessee's Death Row, worked in the Juvenile Justice Field, and served as a Chaplain in a drug and alcohol treatment center. Ashley also met her beloved wife Erica in Nashville and they have been married since 2015.
Before moving to Chicago, Ashley served as the Associate Pastor for Community Outreach at Setauket Presbyterian Church on Long Island. Ashley is a member of the National Board of Directors for More Light Presbyterians. She is a passionate Irish rugby fan, enjoys weightlifting, and, in the words of her wife, "has a laugh that can be heard from miles away."

The congregation's commitment to whole person care is enhanced by the work of Faith Community Nurse Sue Cox. Advocate Health Care was an initial partner with the congregation in establishing a Health Ministry program, and Sue began her work with them in 1989. Whether visiting someone in the hospital, organizing senior exercise classes, monitoring blood pressures, providing personal health counseling, or teaching health education classes, Sue's work among us reflects the congregation's commitment to spiritual, mental and physical well-being for all those who grace our space. Matt Walker
Choir Director
Matt has a Bachelor of Arts in music performance and education from Anderson College, an extensive background in instrumental music and musical theater, and has been singing and performing in choirs and various ensembles all his life.
Originally from Flint, Michigan, he moved to Chicago twenty-five years ago and as an actor has performed at the Goodman, the Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare and the Griffin Theater among many others. He’s been a member of Lake View Presbyterian Church for over ten years and moved from the tenor section to director in the spring of 2018.
John Erikson
Pianist
John has been accompanying the Lake View Choir and playing for worship services since 1998. Originally from California, he received a degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University before relocating to Chicago. He can be heard at various music venues throughout the city and also keeps busy teaching piano at the Old Town School of Folk Music and beyond. John has recorded three CDs under his own name, the most recent, “A Feeling of Christmas “, is a collection of hymns and carols arranged for jazz piano, bass, and percussion. Riley Keough
Office Manager
Riley is originally from Southern California, but relocated to Des Moines and then Chicago during and after college. She graduated from Drake University and moved to Chicago shortly after. She has been with LVPC since the end of 2021 and is here during the weekdays to answer any questions in person, on the phone, or over email.
